Festive Season

The festive season is definitely all around us and we seem to switch gears from quilting to stuffing our bodies with all this wonderful calorie free food. It is definitely a make work project for the New Year. What you are going to see is this long line up of quilters heading for the nearest Curves or the Gym. Christmas comes but once a year and we have all earned the priviledge to indulge. Today our Satelite Group had their Christmas Luncheon. The luncheon was catered by the most talented quilter chefs [pot luck]. The set up was the responsibility of all of us.

This picture does not do justice to the beautiful centerpiece. A glass train...which is lit up by a string of lights going through the train. This was the table set up to hold the very original and unusual decorated fat 1/4 gift exchange.

This was the food table....the non calorie foods

Next came the center piece at the main table.

We cannot forget our beverage table. This christmas tree had all the trimmings relating to quilting. We have quite the talented group. The food was superb, the beverage had quite the punch, and the desserts, words could not describe. After the main course and before dessert & coffee, Chris read a short story to the group "Lighthouse by Robert Munsch" and Claire read "Winter's Tale by Robert Sabuda" Because Claire's story was read from a pop up book.

The last part of our luncheon was the Fat 1/4 Fabric Exchange. Florence read an e-mail which she received from Santa and laid out the ground rules for the fabric exchange.

This was my gift. It was encased in a silver bauble and delivered by one of Santa's Reindeer. The fabric is magnificant. I think that it is just too beautiful to cut. I will just drool over it for awhile. Oh, I just love christmas, calories and all.
Happy Quilting
